Description
- Furnishes services
in accordance with agency policies
- Uses the plan of
care and makes necessary revisions to provide individualized services
- Furnishes those
services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skills as
directed by the DON and Assistant DON
- Prepares clinical
and progress notes
- Initiates
appropriate preventative and rehabilitative nursing procedures
- Informs the
physician and other personnel of changes in the patients condition and
needs by phone and in writing
- Provides services
within agency service area as scheduled
- Counsels the
patient, parent in meeting nursing and related needs
- Participates in
in-service programs
- Supervises and
teaches other nursing personnel
- Reports any changes in client’s
condition to supervisor immediately
- Other assigned
duties as designated by the DON and Assistant DON
Qualifications
- High school
graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of an
approved school of professional nursing
- Licensed as a
registered nurse by the State of Texas
- One year experience
in nursing
- Ability to
demonstrate assessment and skills in caring for a pediatric client for
Pediatric RN Supervisor
- Knowledge or
experience with gastric button feeding and care, but will train
- Knowledge or
experience with ventilators, tracheostomy and care, but will train

Nurses

- Assists the
patient, parent and family in learning appropriate self care techniques
as required
- Provides services
within agency service area as scheduled
- Informs the
pediatric RN supervisor of changes in the patients condition,
immediately
- Counsels the
patient, parent in meeting nursing and related needs
- Participates in
in-service programs
- Receives orders
from physician or his representative according to policy
- Orientation of
co-workers
- Other assigned
duties as desired by the DON and Assistant DON
Qualifications
- High school
graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of an
approved vocational school of nursing
- Licensed as a
practical vocational nurse by the State of Texas
- Ability to
demonstrate assessment and skills in caring for a pediatric client for
Pediatric RN Supervisor
- Some knowledge or
experience with gastric button feedings and care preferred, but will
